Right now, I am testing and self-hosting the following platforms:

• GotoSocial: pls@gotosocial.plaureano.nohost.me – Testing the platform as a very lightweight alternative to self-hosting Mastodon. This is my micro-blogging platform on the Fediverse.

• Pixelfel: pls@pixelfed.plaureano.nohost.me – this particular account is a regular “Pixelfed” account, where I share photographs with the world and follow others. The self-hosted installation doubles down as a web server for images I publish on my blogs (on a secondary account).

• PeerTube: pls@peertube.plaureano.nohost.me – Testing the platform to host my future video content, as an alternative to Youtube. Doubles down as a video server for content in my blogs.

• Writefreely: I am testing it to host specific blog projects I plan to create. You are using it right now! :–)

• Castopod: I am testing it as a platform to host future audio podcasts.

• Lemmy: A very nice Fediverse forum platform. Follow me at pls@lemmy.plaureano.nohost.me and join the conversations. I like Lemmy a lot more than I like micro-blogging platforms. If you want to test the platform on https://lemmy.plaureano.nohost.me/, you can join the instance. You may end up loving it as much as I do. :–)

Platforms I tried in the past and ended up deleting are Friendica, Hubzilla, and Mastodon. For one reason or another, I did not enjoy hosting them. They all have their merits; your mileage may vary; just because I did not like some aspects does not mean they are not remarkable.
